Terms of Service
These terms describe your legal rights, account responsibilities, and acceptable use rules for MimoTalk.
1. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use MimoTalk.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- You may not create an account for anyone other than yourself without proper authorization.
- You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Security → Delete Account.
2. Acceptable Use & Conduct Rules
- Do not harass, threaten, bully, impersonate, or intimidate any person.
- Zero Tolerance for CSAM: Sharing, requesting, or facilitating child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is strictly prohibited. MimoTalk will immediately terminate accounts and report violations to law enforcement (e.g. NCMEC).
- Do not send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, phishing links, or malware.
- Do not promote violence, illegal activities, or hate speech based on protected characteristics.
- Do not use automated bots, scrapers, or reverse-engineer MimoTalk systems without written permission.
3. Features & Device Permissions
- Voice Notes & Audio Recording: MimoTalk requires microphone permission to record voice notes. Audio is only used to deliver voice notes to your intended recipients.
- Camera & Media Storage: Sharing photos, videos, or attachments requires device media storage or camera permissions. You retain ownership of all uploaded media.
- Realtime WebSockets & Presence: You agree to the transmission of live presence status ("In this chat", "online", "offline") and typing indicators to conversation participants.
- Push Notifications: You may grant or revoke push notification permissions for incoming messages and friend requests via your device settings.
4. User Content & Licensing
You retain full ownership of the messages, voice notes, photos, and files you send through MimoTalk ("Your Content").
You grant MimoTalk a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license solely to process, store, transcode, and deliver Your Content to your designated recipients.
5. Reporting & Moderation
MimoTalk provides in-app tools to block and report users or content that violates these Terms or Community Guidelines.
We review reports within 24 to 48 hours and reserve the right to remove content, restrict features, or permanently terminate accounts.
6. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers
MimoTalk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MimoTalk and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service.
7. Governing Law & Contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. For non-consumer disputes, you agree to the jurisdiction of competent courts in the Philippines.
