How we use your data

• To deliver messages and keep conversations in sync in real time.
• To power seen receipts, presence, typing indicators, and other live features.
• To improve the product, understand usage patterns, and fix bugs.
• To help protect the service from abuse, spam, and unauthorized access.

Data sharing

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We only share data with service providers that help us operate the app or when we are required to do so by law.
• We may also share data if needed to enforce our policies or protect users and the service.

Storage and security

Passwords are stored using encrypted hashing rather than plain text.

We use reasonable security practices to protect data in transit and at rest, but no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

Data retention

Deleted message content and attachment metadata are removed immediately. Tombstones are retained for up to 30 days so deletion can synchronize, then removed.

Expired sessions and used account-recovery tokens are removed on a rolling schedule. Rejected friend requests are retained for up to 90 days.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, messages, uploads, social connections, and private account data. Circles with remaining members transfer to another administrator.

Your rights

• You can access your data.
• You can download a portable JSON copy of your account data from Security settings.
• You can update your profile information.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data.

Cookies and sessions

MimoTalk uses cookies or similar session mechanisms to keep you signed in and support authentication and account recovery flows.

Children’s privacy

MimoTalk is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under that age.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make meaningful changes, we will provide a notice in the app or another reasonable way.
